It all boils down to your offering.
Great offers can make up for crappy ads and marketing, but a crappy offer will not work with the best marketing.
So what are you really selling?
It’s not just your product or service, you are selling:
- Deliverables (make these stand out)
- Pricing and payment options
Focus on standing out on these aspects of your offer, rather than perfecting the “perfect” copy or ad, and you will see your ads become profitable!
There’s a difference between small offers and high ticket offers:
For small offers, such as a razor blade, focus on creating viral ads, videos, free shipping, buy one get one free, and brand stories.
For high ticket offers, you need to emphasize the exclusivity and one-on-one support which you will provide the client, including highly personalized deliverables and payment plans.
Viral offers are easy to make!
You can make a funny video, poking fun at the competitors or market you’re in, and shock the short-attention-span viewer with an insanely valuable deal.
Stack a lot of things together to make your offer irresistible, while maintaining a sense of urgency if they scroll past your ad…
Remember, there are numerous studies showing that humans feel twice the amount of pain when losing something, compared to the pleasure of gaining something; even with money.
Make sure your viral offer takes advantage of urgency!
Fish with the right hook:
If you’re trying to reel in more sales, you need to have a strong hook.
You only have a few seconds to capture the attention of a social media user.
This is more important than ever, in this day of age with TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts where attention spans are shortening and dopamine needs to be released as soon as possible!
There are many hooks that you can use:
- Humongous Promises (that you can keep and fulfill)
- Stories (use visualization and attractive words)
- Problem with Solutions (people hate problems and love solutions)
- Juicy Upfront Offers (value, value, and value!)
Not only do we need to reel them in but we need to stop them in their tracks with the right bait.
We call these Pattern Interrupts.
Stopping the scroll is an important success factor for your ad and offer.
Many people play too safe with their ads… you should take a risk, but make sure it’s allowed on the ad guidelines!
Here are some examples:
- “Don’t read this unless you absolutely love x,y,z”
- “You won’t believe what my pet squirrel taught me this morning…
- “Super secret marketing trick billionaires don’t want you to know”
Your Image is 50% of your Pattern Interrupt.
It has to stand out and make people stop and read your actual offer.
If your image is boring, has no facial expressions, small text, then it won’t stop the scroll. You need to split-test multiple images, different colour backgrounds, different texts, and sizes and ultimately grab attention.
Finally, never underestimate reviews and testimonials.
Share these on your website, social media, and ad offers.
People need to trust you, and if you have no testimonials, well, then it’s hard to be trusted.
Humans are social creatures, which is why referrals always work better than ads and are free.
Always display testimonials, and give your customers some gifts or revenue share if they review your or refer more customers.
