Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s (SRK) son Aryan Khan and others’ bail plea hearing was held on October 13 at Mumbai court. The Mumbai special court began the hearing at 2:45 pm in connection with the seizure of banned drugs at a rave party in Mumbai. The bail application was being heard in the Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) requested the hon’ble court to not give bail to Aryan. Moreover, the agency has also arrested 20 people so far in the case including Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. Aryan Khan has been charged with offences under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29 and 35 of the NDPS Act pertaining to possession, consumption and purchase of banned drugs. He is currently lodged at the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai and in judicial custody.
Amit Desai fights for Aryan Khan, further revealing that Aryan didn’t even know anyone in the party. Infact, he was invited by Prateek Gabba, who has not been arrested yet. The lawyer of Aryan, Mr. Desai claimed that the 22 year old did not have cash and was not having any plans to consume or sell drugs. And, the 13 grams of cocaine does not belong to Aryan and neither are the ecstasy pills, mephedrone. The remand order conveys what quantity was recovered. When it came to Khan, none was recovered from him and the allegations are false. Only 6 gms of charas was recovered From Merchant and from Dhamecha, I don’t know, he said. The lawyer mentions the people who actually had drugs were arrested a day later and questioned. ‘Why were they not arrested on the very first day when Aryan was?’
NCB requested to enhance the custody period saying, “During initial investigation, some International linkages pertinent to this applicant (Aryan Khan) have been unearthed which is prima facie indicating towards illicit drug procurement. The investigation requires sufficient time to properly investigate the said linkages so as to approach the concerned foreign agency through proper channels which would entail some more time.” The NCB official also said, “considering the influence that Aryan Khan holds in the society, it is very much possible that he may tamper with evidence and influence other witnesses whom he personally knows.”
